Ford’s Global CMO Lisa Materazzo to Exit

Ford’s global chief marketing officer (CMO), Lisa Materazzo, is leaving the business on June 1 after three years in the role.

Dean Stoneley, who is currently global product marketing exec director, has been named interim global CMO while Ford searches for a successor.

Since joining Ford from Toyota in 2023, Materazzo has modernized Ford’s global marketing function. She most recently spearheaded the launch of the automaker’s new global brand platform “Ready, Set, Ford,” created with Wieden+Kennedy.

“Working alongside talented colleagues across Ford, Lincoln, and Ford Pro, partnering with amazing dealers, and collaborating with outstanding agency partners to help evolve one of America’s most iconic brands has been among the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Materazzo wrote on LinkedIn.

“It has been an honor to serve during such an important chapter in Ford’s transformation.

As I look ahead, I’m energized by the possibilities of what comes next,” the CMO added. She has yet to confirm her next role.

“We appreciate Lisa’s significant contributions to the Ford+ [turnaround] plan, including building a world-class team, driving customer loyalty, and supporting our dealers around the world,” said Ford president and CEO Jim Farley in a statement.

He said Dean Stoneley had “a proven track record of global marketing leadership,” having served as CEO of Ford Canada and CEO of FordDirect, and would bring extensive experience in digital strategy and advanced product marketing to the CMO role.

Despite tariff chaos and nagging supply costs, Ford’s revenue hit $43.3 billion in Q1, up 6% year-on-year.

In recent months, Ford has reset its strategy to prioritize hybrids and more affordable EVs, after weaker-than-expected demand and profitability challenges in the full-size electric truck segment.

Part of this included shifting away from an all-electric future for its F-150 Lightning pickup. It ceased production of the current EV version in December 2025, pivoting to an extended-range model that uses a petrol engine as a generator.
