While many marketers have accepted the difference between what consumers say they care about and their actual behavior when it comes to privacy, Professor Beth Egan’s research suggests we’ve been looking at it wrong. In this Virtual Vanguard, the Syracuse University professor and 25-year advertising industry veteran shared original research and a different take on the privacy paradox to the table: What if privacy fatigue isn’t a consumer behavior problem at all? What if it’s a design problem, and one…Marketing Vanguard Member ContentMarketing Vanguard Member Content#Consumer #Trust #Data #Consent1781099403
In an attempt to guard underage users from being doxxed, Snapchat is adding new content control restrictions on its platform: Users between 13 and 15 years old will only be able to share Spotlight posts with people they follow back. The social network said that users under 16 years old will get a separate profile to show Stories and Spotlight posts to friends that they follow back. The content for these users won’t show metrics, like favorite counts, that create pressure to rank up engagement. Until now, Snapchat has allowed this cohort of users to share Spotlight posts with everyone,…

For the first time, Apple will allow developers to partner with one another to offer subscription bundles through the App Store that would give users access to multiple apps at a lower price than if they subscribed to each separately. At its WWDC 2026 event, the iPhone maker announced an expansion to its App Bundles feature, which had typically allowed a developer with multiple apps to sell them in bundles. Now, Apple says developers will be able to team up with each other to offer users “more for less.” Instead of only bundling apps within their own catalog, developers can…
Other iPad Accessories We LikeiPad accessories are endless. Here are some other options that are perfectly fine, though some have issues that knock them down a rung.Zagg Pro Keys 2 Photograph: Brenda StolyarZagg Pro Keys 2 Keyboard Case for $150: Zagg’s case (7/10, WIRED Review) isn’t as elegant as Logitech’s system, but you can connect it via Bluetooth to two different devices. That means you’ll need to recharge the keyboard case via USB-C. It’s more protective, thanks to the folio cover, and it’s a detachable system with a case that’s separate from the slate. But it’s also a lot bulkier.…

A practical guide to the terminal coding agent landscape in early 2026. Just a year ago, most conversations about AI-powered development tools started and ended with Claude Code. Today, every major AI company has a coding agent, open source alternatives are flourishing, and new entrants seem to appear every week. That’s exciting for developers. It’s also made choosing a tool significantly harder. Before we get into the list, it’s worth clarifying the scope of this article. This isn’t a guide to every AI development tool on the market. It’s specifically a look at terminal-based coding agents: tools that can inspect…
The new Siri AI was the star of the show at Apple’s WWDC 2026 event, and while iOS 27 isn’t bringing major changes, it’s still got many small features that could improve everyday usage for iPhone users. Here is a non-exhaustive list of features that Apple didn’t talk about onstage: iOS 27 now allows you to add full-screen widgets on the home screen, making it easier to scan news or your calendar. Ahead of this year’s World Cup, Amnesty International warned that millions of fans attending the tournament are at risk of attacks on their human rights, especially in the United States. Waymo has created a new computer model designed to more accurately answer a fundamental question: how does its autonomous driving software stack up against humans? The Alphabet-owned robotaxi company, which developed the computer model of human driving capabilities in conjunction with TU Delft, published a research paper about it in Nature Communications on Wednesday. Waymo said it expects the new model to be more accurate than the previous version it has used over the past several years. The new model was built using a framework called active inference — the theory that a driver is constantly imagining possible futures and…
With SpaceX about to break records with an IPO on Friday, Anthropic about to break records with its pending IPO, and OpenAI racing to match or best its archrivals with its own potentially record-breaking IPO, the tech industry will soon have a new set of public company overlords. Should all these IPOs take place as planned, these companies will be replacing the vicious-sounding FAANG cabal — Facebook (now Meta), Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Google (now Alphabet) — with the delightfully sweet-sounding (though truly sour and atrocious if consumed unripe) coterie MANGOS: Meta, Anthropic, Nvidia, Google, OpenAI, SpaceX. As these companies go,…
As tech companies race to secure the computing power needed to train and deploy AI systems, Meta is making its first AI infrastructure bet in India, striking a data center partnership with conglomerate Reliance Industries in a market that is rapidly emerging as a hub for AI infrastructure. The partnership, announced on Wednesday, will see Meta collaborate with Reliance on a 168-megawatt AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, expanding a relationship that has evolved from Meta’s multibillion-dollar investment in Reliance’s Jio Platforms to a $100 million joint venture launched last year to develop enterprise AI solutions for customers in India…
Apple’s long-awaited foldable iPhone may be on track for a fall release, according to hidden files that researcher @M1Astra found in the iOS 27 developer beta. This could mean that when Apple unveils its newest hardware in September, we might finally see its take on the foldable. Even though Apple has no foldable phones yet, the iOS 27 code includes references to “foldState,” “mechanicalAngleDegrees,” “angleDegrees,” and “MGGetLogicalDeviceDisplayCount.” This suggests that the software can interpret if the phone is folded out, to what degree it’s been opened, and how many displays the device is using. The implication is that a possible…
Rivian began officially handing over the first R2 SUVs to paying customers on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the buzzy all-electric automaker as it tries to reach mass-market scale. Rivian founder and CEO RJ Scaringe has said the R2 is “maybe the most important thing we’ve launched to date,” and it’s particularly crucial to the company’s ambitions in the world of autonomous vehicles. Starting at around $58,000, the R2 takes a lot of what Rivian did with the R1 SUV and shrinks it down into a more approachable and affordable form factor. The company plans to offer…
