The morning news ratings remain close, as NBC News’ Today continued to fend off ABC News’ Good Morning America for the top spot in total viewers for the week of March 30.

Today’s lead over GMA dropped to 59,000 total viewers, but it remained America’s most-watched morning show in total viewers and the Adults 25-54 demo. Today’s continued win streak occurred during a week when all three morning shows lost viewers across the board in both measured categories.

According to Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, GMA averaged 2.904 million total viewers and 475,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of March 30. Compared to the previous week, ABC News’ morning show was down by -1% in total viewers and -6% in the demo. When looking at its performance to the same week in 2025, GMA was up by +5% in total viewers but fell by -8% in the demo.

Today remained the No. 1 show in total viewers and the demo with 2.963 million and 615,000 viewers, respectively, for the just-concluded week. The broadcast declined by -3% in total viewers and -8% in the A25-54 demo compared to the previous week. When put up against the same week in 2025, Today was up +13% in total viewers but experienced a -2% drop in the demo.

CBS Mornings had 1.736 million total viewers and 268,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of March 30. Compared to the previous week, CBS News’ morning show was down by -3% in total viewers and -5% in the demo. Versus the same week in 2025, CBS Mornings was down -12% in total viewers and -22% in the demo.

*Please note that year-over-year comparisons are based on Nielsen Big Data+Panel (2026) vs. Panel (2025) measurements.
