Top of the Ticker: The White House Correspondents’ Dinner will take place this Saturday, and for the first time in his presidency, President Donald Trump will attend the gala.

The president’s presence at the annual dinner will be heavily scrutinized due to his treatment of the press. The cable news nets will be offering live coverage of this year’s “Nerd Prom,” and this is how they are covering it:

    • C-SPAN will provide live, uninterrupted coverage beginning with red carpet arrivals at 6 p.m. ET.
    • CNN will have John Berman and Laura Coates anchoring from the network’s Washington bureau beginning at 8 p.m. ET. Sara Sidner will host red carpet coverage, and Berman and Coates will be joined by Van Jones, Scott Jennings, SE Cupp, and Van Lathan.
    • Fox News will have Jimmy Failla hosting a special edition of Fox News Saturday Night live from D.C., beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
    • MS NOW will have The Weekend: Primetime’s Ayman Mohyeldin, Catherine Rampell, and Elise Jordan on hand with live coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET, with reporter Julia Jester live from the blue carpet.
    • NewsNation’s WHCD coverage will be helmed by Natasha Zouves beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Prez chats: NBC News Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager recently exclusively interviewed four former U.S. presidents individually, Bill Clinton, her father George Bush, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden, at a private event in Philadelphia hosted by the History Channel. The presidents spoke with Hager Bush, sharing what inspired them to run for the nation’s highest office, among other topics. The interviews, which aired on Tuesday’s edition of Today, are part of America’s 250th celebration in July.

Former Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are sharing a message of optimism with Americans as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
